2025 Has Already Seen More Indies Hit 100,000 Steam Players Than Any Other Year
2025 is an all-timer for video games.

Earlier this year, I reported on how 2025 was shaping up to be a stellar year for double-A and indie game studios. In early July, 40 percent of the best-performing new games on Steam came from studios in the two aforementioned categories. This included smaller games like Peak, R.E.P.O., and Schedule I, as well as some of the bigger double-A games, such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
