Bubsy 4D has caused irreparable damage to Crash, Spyro, Banjo, Mega Man, and every other fan of a dead platforming mascot.
It very much feels like platforming mascots are dead these days, with only a handful of more modern characters keeping the genre alive. Astro Bot, Mario, Sonic, and now Donkey Kong have all managed to produce some excellent titles between them, while the likes of Kirby and Pac-Man are doing just enough to keep themselves relevant in today's gaming landscape.
