Cyberpunk Fans Just Got Incredible News Out of Anime Expo 2025
Anime Expo 2025 gives the Cyberpunk fanbase an exciting new project to look forward to, one that many fans weren't expecting.
The Cyberpunk 2077-inspired anime, Edgerunners, is officially getting a second part, as confirmed during the series’ panel at Anime Expo 2025. Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and produced by the Japanese anime studio Trigger, the Netflix-backed series originally premiered in 2022. It consisted of ten episodes and followed the story of David Martinez, a troubled teenager in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe who decides to become a mercenary.
