Final Fantasy and Chocobos Brought Me Back To MTG
Here's how I relived my youth with the crossover of MTG and Final Fantasy, and why Chocobos and Landfall mechanics rule the roost.
I bought my first Magic: The Gathering deck in the spring of 1999, at the tender age of 14. As with most things in that period of early adolescence, peer pressure was a driving factor in why I walked into my hometown's only bookstore and bought a ten dollar package of cardboard. Back then, a crossover with the likes of Final Fantasy or any series was but a distant dream.
