In Dungeons & Dragons, there's a player archetype known as the rules lawyer that often gets a bit of a bad rap. Sometimes, the rules lawyer can also come in the form of the Dungeon Master. In short, this is a player or DM who over-litigates the rules to the point where nobody's actually having fun anymore playing the game.
