Japan’s Mobile Gacha Industry Is Sinking Like The Titanic, Developer Claims

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius shuttered its global servers last October, but it was the announcement that Square Enix's mobile stalwart would follow suit with its native Japanese server later this year that really drove home just how shaky the company's once-dominant place in the gacha world has become. Brave Exvius will be joined in the plug-pulling process by Dragon Quest of the Stars, which had an unsurprisingly short life in the West, but shared Brave Exvius' decade-long strength in Japan.
