Every single Magic: The Gathering set will have its haters and its defenders. Someone somewhere started their MTG obsession with Dragon’s Maze or Outlaws of Thunder Junction and still looks back on it fondly. Magic is a game of millions of players who all take something different away from it, and that’s part of why it’s such a lasting success.
