Nintendo's New Patent Doesn't Actually Cover All Summoning
All the hullabaloo over Nintendo's summoning patent may have been a bit overblown.
Nintendo loves a good patent. If there's one thing you can rely on the company for, it's ruining the lives of video game pirates, and fiercely protecting its property. It's going after Palworld for allegedly infringing on a Poke Ball patent, and has patented some rather popular gameplay mechanics in the past, so when it was claimed that Nintendo had patented the concept of summoning, many people weren't all that surprised.
