Gol D. Roger is a name known throughout the world of One Piece. He was the first person to conquer the Grand Line and was bestowed with the title of Pirate King. There were many other powerful pirates during his time, like Whitebeard, who later became a Yonko; Big Mom, who also joined Whitebeard in attaining that title, and Rocks D. Xebec, the greatest foe of Roger. These are some of the many heavy hitters of the time, and the Marines too were after Roger, which mainly consisted of Monkey D. Garp and Sengoku.
