Pokemon Mega Evolution Review: The Phantasmal Flames Waiting Room
Pokemon Mega Evolution is the start of the TCG's next generation, but it feels like a stopgap before the set we're really waiting for.
I know the Pokemon Trading Card Game evolves quickly, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen everyone move on from a set before it even came out. The next Pokemon TCG base set, Mega Evolution, launched this past Friday, while at the same time, pre-orders went on sale for the next set, Phantasmal Flames. While Mega Evolution kicks off a new era of the game with bold new mechanics, stunning artwork, and new-and-improved Elite Trainer Boxes, Phantasmal Flames has Charizard, and lots of them. Guess which one people are more excited about?
