Saints Row's Final Game Was Reportedly Going To Be A Sequel, Not A Reboot
Volition was reportedly working on a sequel to Saints Row: The Third until THQ Nordic scrapped plans and ordered the studio work on a reboot instead.
Volition revived the Saints Row franchise in 2022, launching a reboot that was intended to reset the series and propel it to new heights. That didn't happen, and now a new report has claimed the developers working on the game didn't want to reboot the series. They wanted to continue it with the original characters and make up for past mistakes in the process.
