Splitgate 1 Isn’t Going Away, But There’s a Catch
Splitgate 1 won’t lose complete online access, as 1047 Games introduces a special workaround to keep the beloved first-person shooter alive.

Splitgatededicated servers will officially be closing down on August 29, but online features will remain accessible via peer-to-peer (P2P) hosting, allowing players to continue enjoying the multiplayer experience. Developed by 1047 Games, Splitgate is a Portal-inspired free-to-play sci-fi shooter that was released in early access on Steam in May 2019, with a console release and cross-platform matchmaking following it in June 2021. Over the course of its lifespan, the game enjoyed incredible critical success, though it struggled commercially.
