From their earliest days in the Square era to their latest hits in the time of Square Enix, this company has had some sterling scripts. Certainly, most of the early works were truncated to suit older consoles. On the far end of the spectrum, plenty of Square's later work has been criticized as being overwritten. But strength-of-storytelling has been a core pillar of the developer's success for longer than many of us have been alive.
