Switch Owners Urged To "Plug In" Games Every 5 Years To Avoid Data Loss
Switch, DS, and Vita owners are being urged to boot up their games every 5 - 10 years to avoid them becoming unplayable.
It's been a rough year already for video game preservationists, still desperately clinging onto the hopes that physical media will remain for a good long while (don't worry, I'm right there with you.) Not only has Nintendo thrown a spanner in the works with its Game-Key Cards system for the Nintendo Switch 2, but it seems as though Xbox may have stopped selling physical discs altogether.
