Disney and 20th Century confirm that a sequel to The Simpsons Movie is finally happening, and will be released two decades after the first one.
On September 29, Disney and 20th Century confirmed that The Simpsons Movie 2 is in development, and is tentatively scheduled for a theatrical release on July 23, 2027. The release timing of The Simpsons Movie sequel may be intentional, as it would align with the 20th anniversary of the first film, and be slotted in between two Marvel Cinematic Universe entries.
