The Sims 1999 Prototype Reportedly Found In A Thrift Store, Gameplay Footage Shared
The Sims community is sharing newly uncovered gameplay footage around, which is said to be from a 1999 build found on a disc in a thrift store.
The Sims prints money for EA now, but before the first game launched, it was considered a risk. The Sims has little to no structure and no real goals outside of whatever the player sets themself. The higher-ups at Maxis, and later EA, had to be convinced that a game like this would actually sell well, and now, we might have found one of the demos that did just that.
