Valheim’s Latest Update Adds a Brand-New Mechanic
Valheim receives a new update that brings a completely new feature to the game, reshaping how players approach combat and exploration.
At Gamescom 2025, Valheim released the Call to Arms update on its Public Test Branch, introducing a never-before-seen mechanic to the game and inviting players to help test out the new changes before the patch’s full release. Released in February 2021, Iron Gate Studios’ Valheimhas had a long and highly successful early access period that, from all accounts, is just about to enter its final stages. The developers have confirmed that Valheim 1.0 will release alongside the game’s next major update, The Deep North, which has a tentative release date of Spring 2026.
