Good games like The Last of Us don't need remakes. Mediocre or bad games like Star Fox Adventures do.
Video game remakes and remasters are big business nowadays. In the past year alone, we’ve seen Silent Hill 2, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, Donkey Kong Returns HD, and more besides. Yooka-Replaylee is out next month, too, while Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined arrives at the beginning of 2026.
