We’ve all been there: yelling at a game because your friendly NPC companion decided to run directly into a landmine, or got themselves stuck on a piece of geometry while the main story quest waited for them to catch up. For a long time, the 'A' in 'AI' seemed to stand for 'absolutely incompetent,' and we all just accepted it.
