Why Isn't Metroid As Popular As Hollow Knight?
Ahead of Silksong, Hollow Knight have nearly dethroned Metroid.
With only one game currently available, Hollow Knight is already close to outselling the two iconic properties its Metroidvania genre draws its inspiration from. Metroid, that is, the one that gives the genre half of its name. Oh, and Castlevania (the other half) for good measure.
