Video games have been very popular in South Korea since the 1970s, with Korean companies even getting involved in developing their own arcade games to critical acclaim, such as Air Buster, Hard Head, and Pollux. In more recent decades, developers have primarily focused on MMORPGs, many of which are incredibly popular in East Asia, including Lineage 2 and Cabal Online, which are still going strong after two decades on the market.
