Fable's Humphry Could Be the Key to a Different Kind of Heroes' Guild
Fable’s Humphry might point to a world where the Heroes’ Guild is gone, but that could set the stage for players to build something even better.
Over two decades ago, Lionhead Studios' Fable introduced players to the iconic Heroes' Guild within its world of Albion — a place that served as a training ground, quest hub, and a home away from home for Heroes. Subsequent entries saw the decline of the Heroes Guild, with Fable 2 featuring the Guild in ruins and Heroes being almost mythical figures, and Fable 3 removing the formal structure of the Guild altogether until it was essentially absent. The next entry in the series (also considered a reboot) now appears to be somewhat picking up where the last entry left off in terms of the Heroes Guild, where it is little more than a memory surviving within the mind of Fable's new mentor-character Humphry.
