Perhaps unsurprisingly, your first encounter with the Mimic in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic comes quite early in the story, right after restoring power to the first area and using a Hand Crank to open a gate. Bursting from a wooden crate in an Elephant Costume, the Mimic will stalk you through this central storage area.
