Together Lacks Something Missing From The Biggest Original Horror Movies
You can't predict viral moments, but original horror movies like Together, Sinners, and Longlegs kinda need them to succeed.
Together, which brings husband-and-wife actor duo Dave Franco and Alison Brie together in the literal body horror sense, hit theaters last weekend. It made $6.8 million going up against stiff competition, as The Fantastic Four: First Steps hung around, and The Bad Guys 2 and The Naked Gun rounded out the top three. Given those circumstances, that's a fine opening for an original horror movie, but in 2025, original horror has only — with one major exception — been able to manage 'fine' at the global box office.
